Experimenting with Colors (and Design) III

18
Here is the third attempt. Some have commented that they liked the old burgundy, which gave this blog a distinct characteristic - I liked it too. This is now kept in the header. This is probably the most readable design thus far, but I will say no more. Your comments are more than welcome.

  1. Hey, I like the burgundy header! Thanks!

  2. This is the best so far.

  3. I like the burgundy in the header. The background seems a little dull though. Maybe some greek or hebrew script there would be nice.

such stuff could be added at a later stage, if and when we learn how to do it...

  5. Yes, this is the most readable so far--more so than the combinations over the weekend. Very nice.

  6. Still like the old scheme better than all, but this one works better than the last two.

  7. I like it a lot, it's a good crux of readability and academic aesthetics :)

  8. Quite readable. The old color is nice.

  9. You need to change the background colour, maybe to something like #cbcbcb to add a hint of the burgundy to the gray, I think, otherwise it just looks odd.

  10. I suggest that the colours not change anymore, since this combination is rather adequate and workable, and possible further combinations could mess things up a bit.

  11. I agree with Doug on the color scheme. I would like to see the gray background and the peach letters on the sidebar adapted to complement the burgundy. Burgundy is our signature color and we should retain it in some form. Thanks for spending time on this Tommy.

CA:"I would like to see the gray background and the peach letters on the sidebar adapted to complement the burgundy."

I might try that, but in order to change the grey I think it will be necessary to edit directly somewhere in the html-code of the page (which I have done to some degree already), because you cannot do this particular change as easily.

Otherwise people seem happy judging from the comments, and, above all, the silence.

  13. I agree that the title burgundy is nice and also conservative - retaining our brand colour scheme.

  14. Well then, at this point I think we will settle with this design, which I think is quite nice and readable. If I manage I may experiment further with the grey.

  15. Oh, Christian, I did change the "peach letters on the sidebar" to burgundy, but the difference is hardly noticeable.

  16. I would agree that the readability of the blog is much improved (in this one person's opinion) while still retaining a sense of continuity with its prior color scheme.
