Paper accepted for the Sinaiticus Conference

2
I just heard that my paper was accepted for the Sinaiticus Conference in July, so I shall be able to join the illustrious folk at the British Library, including of course the most illustrious Sinaiticus scholar of our generation, D(i)r(k) Jongkind, whose recent discoveries will be the basis of my rather exciting presentation: ‘Some Observations on Various Features of Scribe D in the New Testament’.

  1. It certainly is a most exciting title ... not. Can't wait to sleep through the abstract.

  2. Congratulations! I regret that O did not have time to cobble together a paper to submit for consideration. (Confession: I might have had time, if it wasn't for that addictive Spore game!) If I had, my paper would have presented a collection of small points which cumulative indicate that the diorthotes of Sinaiticus was Acacius (bishop of Caesarea after Eusebius), and that he was also one of the copyists of Vaticanus. Then I would have identified some readings in Sinaiticus that may be reasonably suspected of having been favored by Acacius due to his training and theological views. Oh well; if I ever finish that, maybe I can submit it to the online TC journal.

I am sure the conference will be very interesting!

    Yours in Christ,

    James Snapp, Jr.
