Reviewed by Juan Hernández Jr.
A forum for people with knowledge of the Bible in its original languages to discuss its manuscripts and textual history from the perspective of historic evangelical theology.
I sent in a review of this book to TC: A Journal of Biblical Textual Criticism months ago. Tobias Nicklas, the review editor, says he has forwarded it and loads of other reviews to be published to the main editor James Adair, but nothing happens and Adair does not reply. I don't know what is wrong. Perhaps anyone else knows? I know that this has happened before though.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Hernandez' review yet, but in my rather long review (+4000 words) I conclude that the volume is uneven. Some articles are brilliant but some would, in my opinion, need considerable revision. Also it is a pity that not all manuscripts were covered, since some invited contributors failed to produce what they promised.
Hernandez' review also notes some unevenness of treatment. I suppose the tight deadlines imposed in the lead-up to the Washington exhibition may have been an issue for contributors (who knows?).
