Am angang was das wort

Over the Christmas break we payed a visit to the marvellous Fitzwilliam Museum and I noticed an interesting piece of NT reception-history. Engraved on an 18th century hunting sword were the words: "Am angang was das wort, wud das wort was bei Gott, und Gott was das Wort."

  1. Where they really the words, cos the German is really badly falsche.
