A forum for people with knowledge of the Bible in its original languages to discuss its manuscripts and textual history from the perspective of historic evangelical theology.
Out of what?
ReplyDeleteOut for 82.
ReplyDeleteThe original reading was probably "touted," which a careless scribe shortened to "outed." An Orthodox scribe (weren't they all?) didn't like the connotations of "outed" and decided that "out" fit the context much better, so an Orthodox Corruption ensued.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I don't like the new CAPTCHA. Every word looks like a scribal corruption, scribble, or maybe even dribble. I mean drivel.
