A forum for people with knowledge of the Bible in its original languages to discuss its manuscripts and textual history from the perspective of historic evangelical theology.
Very nice. The yellow links on the right sidebar could be a shade darker, however.
ReplyDeleteDone.
ReplyDeleteWell, I like the scheme very much.
ReplyDeleteEasier on the eyes, and a sharp, clean feel to it. Very nice. Perhaps the title/sidebar title colour darker/more red?
ReplyDeleteI reckon go for a black or blue background.
ReplyDeleteI certainly appreciate your efforts, Tommy, but to be honest I much preferred the old red (sorry!). That may be because I have my office painted a similar dark red, or it could be that the new colour scheme makes me hungry for butterscotch pudding. Not that there is anything wrong with butterscotch pudding, it is quite a fine pudding as far as puddings go, but as it stands if I keep checking this blog regularly I could end up the size of a blimp. a butterscotch blimp.

This is not easy ... Comments are very welcome. Of course everyone cannot be happy, whatever design we choose. We will give one day for comments before next attempt.
ReplyDeleteNow what I would choose personally, but it is fine for me and much better than the last attempt.
ReplyDeleteVery readable and works well for me. I say you keep it like it is now, Tommy. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think this one better than the last one.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to think about having a custom blog made. You can see ours at www.bringthebooks.org.
I am really happy with it. The company that did it is Tenkeme Studios. There website is http://tekemestudios.blogspot.com/. The cost is not too expensive.
Just a thought for you guys to consider.
Very nice, I rescind the wordpress request
ReplyDeletemuch better than the red original. in fact, anything but white on black or some other darkish background with light lettering is good. for me, dark backgrounds make pages nearly impossible to read.
ReplyDeleteI think this one is very good.
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot. It has a parchment look to it. My one complaint is that the light yellow used in block quotes seems too light.
ReplyDeletenot a big deal to me, but i prefer the solid red. i guess i sort of started associating the red background with ETC because you don't see it used much. but, i'll tune in from time to time no matter what, so pick what's easiest on your eyes.
ReplyDeleteThis color is better than the other experiment, but the letters could be darker. Funny...some people seem to have a problem reading light words on dark backgrounds while others (me) have a more difficult time reading dark letters on a light background. Can't you all like what I like? :-)
ReplyDeleteSo, darken up the letters and I think this would work better...
Does this mark a deeper cultural and theological shift? Softer, easier on the eye, responsive to opinion, experimental.
ReplyDeleteNext you'll want to rename us as: Emerging Textual Criticism
PMH: "Next you'll want to rename us as: Emerging Textual Criticism"
ReplyDeleteor ETC, which fits both Evangelical and Emerging Textual Criticism, and we will leave the interpretation to the readers :-)
