Well, it's been a decade and a half, but today I encountered this paper when I stumbled across a puzzling switch in order of the names of Prisca and Aquila in Acts 18:26, in different Bible translations I'm using.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was an interesting paper that demonstrated that scribes in certain traditions let their prejudices interfere with their scribal activities, sometimes - though the writer herself is careful to mention she doesn't want to impute motive, but rather wants to discuss the effects of these changes.
