... but not in the capital building as pictured here.  Read the Religion News Service article here.  The manuscripts and artifacts will be housed in a full scale facsimile of Westminster Abbey in a yet undetermined location.  If you are in the vicinity of Charlotte, NC, you should be able to check out some of the collection's jewels soon.  The details for Charlotte do not appear to be online, yet.

  1. I'm fairly sure the article means that a full-scale reproduction of one particular *chamber* of Westminster Abbey is planned to be built for the future museum. I rather doubt that they are planning to create a full-scale reproduction of Westminster Abbey within four years. (But who knows!)

I wish they'd asked me about this. Would it not be better, considering the scale of the collection, to have two museums in two far-apart places: one containing eye candy and healine-news items for the masses, and one containing important stuff that only specialists care about? It's not too late to reconsider!

    Yours in Christ,

    James Snapp, Jr.

We have some excellent resources in the field here in D.C. especially with the LC and Dumbarton Oaks.

  3. I hope they actually publicize when and where the collection will be in Charlotte.
