NT GREEK MSS IN YOUR iPHONE / iPAD:
The H. Milton Haggard Center for NT Textual
Studies in New Orleans at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is pleased
to announce the release of our NT Greek Manuscripts app for iPhones and
iPads.
The app, which is free, allows
for searching of NT Greek MSS by manuscript number, date, and location (cities,
with the libraries located in each city then listed so that the exact library
can be chosen). The page for each MS
includes some of the typical info like content, date, and such, an abbreviation
of what is found in the Kurzgefasste Liste and based on the MS lists in the CNTTS Critical
Apparatus.
For those MS with images
available online, there is a link that opens the browser to go to the webpage
with the images. Thanks are expressed to
the INTF for allowing linking to their VMR site. Also, the images posted by the CSNTM are
linked, so thanks go to them as well and to many others that have posted images
of NT Greek MSS.
Here are some images of the app screens,
with the first screen showing a search based on the MS number, the second a
search by date (clicking on the century shows all of the MSS listed for that
century), and the third a search by location.
To download the app, simply type NT Greek
MSS into the App store search box. While
many at the CNTTS worked on various aspects of the app, special credit goes to
Steve Whatley and Bob Littlefield for the primary roles in creating the app itself. Hopefully this will be helpful to students, pastors,
faculty, and researchers alike.
