One of our readers, "Donna" left a comment on our announcement of the tragic death of "Traianos Gagos (1960-2010)" which I thought deserves a main post: We are deeply saddened to hear this news.

Our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Many generations of scholars and papyrologists worldwide will benefit from his progressive work through the internet.

At one point in the clip, Gagos characteristicially says: "Well, I am a big believer in sharing information, dissemination, 95% of the collection is free on the internet."
That's 95%.
ReplyDeleteSeems like an awfully early date for p46: second century, 200 years older than any other ms of Paul. If 01 and 03 are c. 350, that would date p46 at least half a century older than the usual c. 200.
