It's now official: DeMoss have made a press release announcing the collaboration of Tyndale House, Cambridge, and the Green Scholars Initiative to study the Codex Climaci Rescriptus, which belongs to the Green Collection. Peter Head will be heading up investigation of the Greek underwriting and I'll be heading up investigation of the Christian Palestinian Aramaic underwriting. GSI will supply a range of images and access to the original.
The text of DeMoss's press release is here. There are one or two things I would have put differently, but this gets the gist.

Congratulations! What an honor to study such treasures! Any plans for presentations or publications or is it still too early?
ReplyDeleteExcellent news of the day! Long live the tandem!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is great news for both of you, for Tyndale House and for the Green Scholars Initiative. I look forward to seeing the editions of these manuscripts in due course.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on this amazing opportunity!

John,
ReplyDeletePresentations on the material will naturally be done during the course of research and there'll probably be a symposium or two. The GSI are setting up some monograph series (pl) with Brill and so the main publication will be through Brill (dimitte nobis, emptor). However, don't hold your breath. The research is only just beginning. So the announcement is with a bang, but then you have to wait ...
Upon reading the first few lines, I misread that a certain "Codex Climati" from the "Green Collection" is under scrutiny. Now I've learned it is something more serious. Congratultaions, and I wish you a very good climate in studying the treasure!
