Birmingham Postgrad call for papers
Drew Longacre has a call for papers for the 3rd University of Birmingham Biblical Studies Postgraduate Day Conference Call for Papers on his blog. Given the location (Birmingham, UK, not Alabama) and the theme "Unity and Diversity in Text and Tradition", papers on TC will be very appropriate.
Just returned from viewing the Green Collection exhibit on display this week in Virginia Beach. They had on display a small papyrus fragment of 1 Corinthians 8:10; 9:3. It measured only about 2 inches by 2 inches. Of course photography was not allowed, and the lighting was poor, but I looked through the glass and was easily able to see most of the letters which I quickly transcribed onto paper.
ReplyDeleteThe Green Collection is saying this fragment is from late 2nd/early 3rd century and was extracted from mummy cartonnage. Was truly great to see it. They had a nice collection of other books and manuscripts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting Pete! We are defintely focusing on text-critical papers, so any postgrads are welcome to propose papers on their current TC research. The theme is broad enough to incorporate other aspects of Biblical Studies too.
