Rendel Harris. Readers of ETC may wish to know that several of J. Rendel Harris' works are available online at the www.archive.org website, including "Stichometry" (check out the appendix!), "Four Lectures on the Western Text," and "Fragments from Mount Sinai."

Yours in Christ,

James Snapp, Jr.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17859011.post-50890212185254842252008-05-22T18:13:00.000+01:002008-05-22T18:13:00.000+01:00Technical note:Since posters are only identified a...Technical note:

Since posters are only identified at the end of a sometimes very long post, those of us wondering who is making the references to "I" and "my" have to scroll down to the end of the post to find out.

This is the opposite layout of the comments, which are usually much shorter.

Hopefully this can be easily remedied.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17859011.post-81908638474985536752008-05-22T16:16:00.000+01:002008-05-22T16:16:00.000+01:00PH: "I presume that top scholars are not submittin...PH: "I presume that top scholars are not submitting articles."

I think our mutual friend and top scholar Martin Heide submitted one article which was accepted, but publication took so long so he had to withdraw it, and send it somewhere else. I was also tempted when the publication of my current review, which I worked hard to complete, took about one year to be published.

I think the journal needs another main editor along with Adair who seems a very busy man. I think the SBL, now responsible for the journal, ought to do that. They could always ask one of us!

On the other hand, Tobias Nicklas who is the review editor has been very effective in distributing books for review, etc.Tommy Wassermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10674769923361035721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17859011.post-22408978319197690922008-05-22T13:03:00.000+01:002008-05-22T13:03:00.000+01:00Thanks Tommy,It is good to see a large number of b...Thanks Tommy,

It is good to see a large number of book reviews in TC - esp. since over the last couple of years it is primarily the reviews which have kept TC alive:
2007: 2 articles; 22 reviews
2006: 1 article; 1 review article; 5 reviews
2004-5: 0 articles; 2 reviews
2003: 4 articles; 1 review article; 13 reviews

I presume that top scholars are not submitting articles. So is TC journal really functioning as a top-quality academic journal? And has it ever recovered from the demise of the old TC list?Peter M. I think he made Dimai in the Fayjum the most probable?
Can the White Monastery now be ruled out?
From what I read there were excavations at Dimai, but nothing has been found.Wieland Willkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02376942788228063430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17859011.post-33016488448662933702008-05-21T22:43:00.000+01:002008-05-21T22:43:00.000+01:00Thanks for announcing this. Thanks for announcing this.Stephen C.
